SSG Fox SPGP honors Veteran Parker Gordon Fox, who joined the Army in 2014 and was a sniper instructor at the U.S. Army Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia. Known for a life of generosity and kindness to others in need, Fox died by suicide on July 21, 2020, at the age of 25. More information on the SSG Fox SPGP can be found at www.mentalhealth.va.gov/ssgfox-grants/.

Healing Warriors Program envisions a suicide-free world where all veterans and their families thrive, by improving their wellness through non-narcotic care. Healing Warriors Program is partnering with the VA to achieve this vision. The VA has awarded Healing Warriors Program with the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant (SSG Fox SPGP) which helps HWP expand and enhance services to veterans and families. This new funding and partnership with the VA allows for HWP to provide more services, enhanced intake screenings, increased staffing, and improved client care specialization to serve Veterans. SSG Fox Grant expands our ability to focus on suicide prevention for Veterans and their family by including new screening tools to assess short and long term needs. Eligibility is determined by a screening process and if eligible, Veterans can engage in HWP’s variety of programs and services to address concerns and increase quality of life. Once a Veteran is deemed eligible, they will also receive a C.A.R.E.S. kit containing supplemental care items to support them during and after treatment. If the eligible Veteran has a spouse, partner, or parent that is interested in services, they can also apply and can receive care and a C.A.R.E.S. Kit. All services for Veterans and their eligible family members are individualized for their needs.
